Ipamorelin
IPASelective growth-hormone secretagogue.
Also known as: NNC 26-0161
Overview
Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide and highly selective growth-hormone secretagogue widely referenced for its clean GH-release profile with minimal effect on cortisol or prolactin.
The most selective GHRP studied to date — it stimulates GH release with minimal impact on cortisol, prolactin, or appetite, unlike earlier secretagogues such as GHRP-6. Commonly paired with a GHRH analog (e.g. CJC-1295) for amplified, pulsatile GH release in research.
Selectively activates the ghrelin/GH-secretagogue receptor to stimulate growth-hormone release without strong appetite or stress-hormone effects.
Molecular information
Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2A pentapeptide acting at the ghrelin/GH-secretagogue receptor.
Pharmacokinetics

Research applications
- Selective GH-release research
- Body-composition studies
- Secretagogue-combination investigations

Observed effects timeline
Aggregated observations reported across research literature. Timing and magnitude vary by model and are not a guarantee of outcome.
Acute (per dose)
Sharp, pulsatile GH release reported within ~30 minutes of administration.
Week 2–4
Cumulative IGF-1 elevation reported with consistent multi-week dosing.
Ongoing
Pulsatile pattern preserved; effects taper after discontinuation.
Research compatibility
Describes how compounds are studied alongside one another in the literature. Not a recommendation to co-administer.
CJC-1295 (no DAC)
Frequently co-studied for pulsatile release.
GHRP-6
Redundant GH-secretagogue activity.
BPC-157
Distinct pathways; co-studied in recovery contexts.
TB-500
Complementary for muscle recovery, tissue repair, and overall regeneration
Sermorelin
Excellent combination - Sermorelin (GHRH) and Ipamorelin (GHRP) work through different receptor pathways, producing synergistic 3-5 fold increases in GH release
Tesamorelin
Synergistic GH stimulation possible. Monitor IGF-1 levels closely and consider dose adjustments to prevent excessive growth hormone elevation.
How to reconstitute
Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water, swirl gently, and refrigerate. Do not shake — agitation degrades the peptide.
- 1Allow the vial to reach room temperature (15–20 minutes).
- 2Swab the stopper with alcohol and let it air dry.
- 3Add bacteriostatic water slowly down the vial wall.
- 4Swirl gently until dissolved into a clear solution.
- 5Refrigerate at 2–8 °C and protect from light.
Quality indicators
Uniform white powder
Lyophilized cake should be white to off-white without discoloration.
Clear solution
Reconstitutes to a clear, colorless, particle-free solution.
Cold-chain integrity
Reconstituted solution requires 2–8 °C storage.
Slight clumping
Small clumps that dissolve completely with gentle swirling are acceptable — shipping can cause minor compaction.
Collapsed or melted appearance
Powder that looks collapsed, melted, or stuck to the vial walls may have been exposed to heat in transit.
Cloudy after reconstitution
Persistent cloudiness, particles, or precipitate after gentle mixing can indicate a degraded or contaminated peptide.
Reported observations & safety
Safety signals reported in the research literature. Compiled for scientific awareness — not medical advice.
- Among the best-tolerated secretagogues in research, with minimal cortisol/prolactin impact.
- Mild injection-site reactions and transient head-rush are occasionally reported.
